A monumental moment for the club and young players as this was the first season Abingdon Eagles have entered a U12 team in the National League since the lockdowns of covid.

The team comprised of some experienced players but for most of the team this was their first
experience of full-length games. Head Coach Steve and Coach Hayley were supported by their son Coach Oli to develop these enthusiastic and tenacious young players.

The format meant all players were guaranteed playing time and, being a mixed league, this allowed us to play boys and girls. The team competed magnificently throughout the season, and it was a joy to watch the players develop both individually and as team players. They played excellent motion offence and tough on-ball defence.

Often the sports hall was rammed with Eagles supporters creating a fantastic atmosphere for the young Eagles. We bore witness to incredible drives, monumental blocks, superb rebounds, fabulous defensive plays, textbook execution Zippers, Box and 2s and we even saw our youngest U12 Eagle make a 4 point play.

We finished a commendable fourth place, with a 50% win:loss record, scoring 705 baskets.

Team Manager Richard who makes it all happen. It truly has been a wonderful team effort.
