but determined for more wins when they restart!

In what turned out to be the last U12 fixture pre lockdown - part 2, the team travelled the short distance to play a friendly against our local opposition, Oxford Hoops.

Eagles came to play a fast offence supported by tough defence and raced into a double-digit lead and never looked backed to take the ‘W’ on game day.

The team had to move to ‘half court D’ after Q1 and then focused their efforts on the ‘pass and cut’ drills they work on in training, while Oscar, Matt and Noah broke up plays with a tireless performance to keep the ball and team moving forward. The team continued to make steals, grab rebounds and make assists.

It was very pleasing to see that everyone scored with Cody topping the charts.

More life lessons this week, as two weeks ago we were gracious in defeat, meaning this week, the boys learnt a valuable lesson of how to be humble in victory.

Already looking forward to getting back on the court in early December.

Stay safe and well.

LETS GO EAGLES.

And here's how they got on at Milton Keynes

After only a few indoor sessions to prepare and 5 players making their debut it was going to be a baptism of fire for the newly formed team.

Not to be daunted by the task Eagles got off to a quick start and with our top scorer Ben making some early buckets the team settled and it was going to be a competitive affair. Q2 didn’t go so well with some sloppy turnovers, overstepping the mark when inbounding the ball and missed free throws the team came in at half time down double digits and deflated.

Q3 was low scoring and scrappy as both teams struggled to keep the ball which left a 10 point deficit to claw back in Q4.

Eagles came out firing on all cylinders, Cody led the hustle making stops on the defensive end and with Tyler hitting shots we got back to within 1 point with 10 seconds to go with MK in possession. Toby got a steal and the ball broke for Ben to hit the winning shot at the buzzer, MK were devastated and Eagles celebrated only for the official to deem the ball didn’t leave the hand in time and rule out the 2pts. In the end we lost by one point but after the initial disappointment the team reflected and it actually felt like a win with a stellar Q4 performance.

Overall the team passed the test with flying colours and left MK with a lot of positivity and self-belief, the coach and parents couldn’t be prouder. Looking forward to a great season.
