The team started well with solid defence from Joe Claringbould and Asher Easton and built an early lead. However, the team missed a lot of easy baskets which would have opened up a substantial lead. Unfortunately, the intensity dropped and the Eagles were unable to capitalise on their height advantage.

The introduction of Dillon Bose helped the scoring along but by the end of the second quarter every player had got a run but the score was too close for comfort. With new tactics to start the second half, Akira Harry was driving to the hoop like a knife through butter, and eventually the lead became comfortable.

The team’s finishing improved in the second half and every player scored. In particular, Alex Newing, showed tough defence, great offence and excellent free throw shooting. The fourth quarter saw the Eagles fast break their way to a comfortable win.

The Eagles remain third in the table!
