close losses for both but encouraging play!

Eagles U14 had a hard fought game with Kingston Wildcats. There was good defence played by both sides in a relatively low scoring game. The first quarter was very tight with the lead changing with almost every basket. Eagles lead at the end of the quarter 15-13. The 2nd quarter continued in the same manner and just over half way through Harry hit his 2nd 3 pointer to give us a 5 point lead. However Kingston came back and used the pick and roll very effectively, this and a few missed Eagles shots meant Kingston took a 7 point lead 37-30 at half time. The fast paced action continued but Kingston managed to put a 7 point run together to end the 3rd quarter 12 points ahead. Lorenzo hit a 3 pointer at the beginning of the 4th but too many missed free throws meant we could not close the gap and Kingston went on to win 59-45.

A big thank you to Julia Buckel, Leo's auntie, for taking some fab photos at Sunday's game. Please contact us if you would like to see more!

A good performance with particular focus on being able to maintain a high level of play for the full 40 minutes being the challenge for the future. Particular mention goes to Harry and French, who put in one of his best performances of the season.

On Monday, our Ladies team played away against the Witney Cougars. In a hard fought game our newly-formed team were only two points down at half-time but the more experienced Witney team pulled away to become eventual winners 57-34. The team is getting stronger and better with each performance and we are looking forward to great thing over the next weeks and months.

Well done ladies!
