while our men put on a good performance in their first outing

Eagles put out a strong team against an individually talented Phantoms team. Another slow start by the Eagles but once they got going they were unstoppable. A disciplined and measured performance by the starters opened up the game for the bench to get plenty of court time and the bench did not disappoint. Harvey had his best game of the season at both ends of the floor whilst scoring 10 pts with direct and positive play. He also picked up some rebounds, assists and steals making it a thoroughly professional performance. The rest of the bench also all played very well with the most notable statistic the very high shooting percentage by Harry, Ben and Harvey. It was great to see everyone scoring and the starters helping the bench players to perform so well.

Sam Cheshire led the team in scoring and provided important on court team motivation. Ruben once again dominated the boards and did something of everything making him once again statistically the MVP. The game was won in the second quarter and the Phantoms demonstrated what happens when you lose your cool in a game. Take note Eagles and keep a cool head under pressure.

Most pleasing was the all-round team performance and also the Eagles free throw shooting percentage (at last) 70%.

Final score Eagles 98 Farnborough 57. Top of the league. Go Eagles

Our men put on a fantastic first performance. Coach John reports:
"Tough first game for Eagles Men against a big experienced Blazers squad, with majority of their players currently playing National League. Went down 71 - 38, but a really good result for an extremely new team with plenty of positives"
